Digital Experience Lead | Enterprise School Network Platform
Delivering a consistent, trustworthy digital experience across a network of more than 1,200 state primary and high schools requires more than good design it demands enterprise-level thinking, disciplined delivery, and an unwavering focus on the people the platform exists to serve: teachers, parents, and students.
I led the design and delivery of a modernised digital experience for one of Australia's largest state school networks, built on a Microsoft and SharePoint foundation. The goal was to replace outdated capability with an experience that was simple to use, easy to navigate, personalised, and guided meeting the practical daily needs of a diverse and distributed user base across the entire state.
Understanding both business and customer needs was the starting point for everything. Once requirements were established, I coordinated across web designers, solution architects, and front-end and back-end SharePoint developers to move from concept through to build and testing. Recognising that the existing build process was laborious and inefficient, I respectfully challenged the team to adopt a test-and-learn approach — a shift that meaningfully reduced cost to serve and accelerated delivery timelines without compromising quality.
Beyond the transformation program, my role encompassed full management of business-as-usual updates, releases, and change processes across the platform including six iOS applications and online sandpit environments. Effective data management was central to maintaining platform integrity and experience quality throughout, particularly during periods of significant operational complexity.
This experience reinforced that enterprise-scale digital delivery is as much about culture and ways of working as it is about technology and that a test-and-learn mindset, introduced with care, can shift both outcomes and team confidence.
