Digital transformation for schools

With over 1,200 state primary and high schools in Queensland an enterprise approach was taken to manage and deliver a trustworthy digital experience with a focus on the use of Microsoft products. The goal was to take outdated capability and deliver a digital experience that teachers, parents and students needed to be successful which was simple to use, easy to find, personalised and guided.

Understanding the needs of the business and customer was critical in designing and building a great experience. Once we had the business requirements the web designers set about building the look and feel while solution architects design the back-end experience. It was then handed over to front-end and back-end SharePoint developers to build, testing was then critical to ironing out any issues that were found. This build process was laborious and in-efficient for the business, moving forward I was able to respectfully challenge the team to take a test and learn approach to the build phase which provided a reduction in cost to serve and time.

My role was to not only deliver new websites onto SharePoint farms but to also manage the business as usual updates, releases and change process, including 6 iOS applications and online sandpit environments. Management of data was critical to the success of the experience, during challenging circumstances, I continued to remain focus and always have in my mind that I was there to deliver for the customer.
